Slaughterhouse Vigil
A vigil outside the slaughterhouse: documenting, being present and meeting the animals.
How to get started

What it is
At a vigil, activists stand outside a slaughterhouse. They document animal transports, share photos and stories of the animals, and make visible what usually happens behind closed gates.
Flow and roles
- The group meets outside the slaughterhouse.
- Animal transports are observed and documented.
- Some people hold signs or banners for passing cars.
- Where possible, the group asks drivers for a short moment with the animals.
- Photos and reports are later used for public education.
Clothing and materials
You do not need to bring anything specific. Weather-appropriate clothing is useful. Signs, banners and other materials are coordinated on site by the organizers.
For first-timers
You do not need to bring anything. Arrive on time, follow the organizers' instructions and stay with the group.
