WTF Diamond in Vienna

What it is

The WTF Diamond is an action by We The Free (WTF). Activists form a diamond formation and hold screens or signs. Alongside them, an outreach team speaks with people who stop.

WTF describes the Diamond as a street action that draws attention to animal exploitation and opens conversations about veganism.

Flow and roles

• Diamond team: forms the shape and holds a screen or sign. People swap when needed.
• Outreach team: speaks with people who watch the footage.
• Stall/table: some teams also use a table with materials or samples.

Clothing and materials

WTF merch is optional. Without a WTF shirt, a navy top is ideal; otherwise choose a dark shirt. Animal-derived clothing such as leather, wool, silk or suede should not be worn. Visible vegan slogans on clothing should be avoided because they can give away the purpose of the action.

Footage and conversations

The videos show legal and standard practice from so-called high-welfare farms. If you stand in the Diamond, you do not need to watch the footage yourself. For outreach conversations, you should know the content.

For first-timers

For your first time, you can stand in the Diamond or observe experienced outreach conversations. Arrive 15 minutes early for the briefing.
